Bucket List #11

Bucket List #11: Sit on the gold dome

Put a big fat check mark next to this one! This is one of our proudest moments at Canisius! Yes you read that correctly. Not earning our degrees, not making lifelong friends, not achieving Dean's list or a new personal best...it's sitting on the golden dome of Old Main.

Here's that glorious gold dome:

And to believe we sat on that thing. Yes. Read and weep.

It all started because we left the Montante Carlo night and we didn't feel like it fulfilled our expectations. So we made our own. We decided to try the forbidden staircase that let to the roof of Old Main. Sarah led the way. The whole time we were complaining about the steps, saying "if we get all the way up there and the door's locked, we're going to be SO upset." Sarah pushed the door once. Nothing. She tried it again. Didn't budge. Just as we were about to give up she tried one more time and the door opened. It was like the Jesuits were listening! Lol...

We started running around, quietly, and taking pictures as quickly as we could. Here are some shots:
Here we are on top of the dome! We had two close friends join us for this adventure :)

Like we said earlier...we are SO PROUD of ourselves for this great accomplishment. As soon as we got down from the roof and headed down the staircases, we saw tons of other groups of students heading up to do the same thing. You could say we're trendsetters :)

Senior Week: Day 2

Senior Week continues!
Thank GOD!

On the second day of Senior Week we had a Happy Hour event downtown at one of the popular bars/restaurants in our city. We got dressed up in our wedges and skinny jeans and took the subway. We arrived, handed over our ID's, and received our ticket for one lousy drink. Boo hiss.

The food, however, was amazing! We devoured: spinach and artichoke dip, pizza, wings, spanokopita, cheese and crackers, egg rolls, mini quiche, jalapeno poppers, and more!

We all just hung out, ate, drank, and took pictures with everyone.

Yes, Michelle is wearing her parka in May.

Then we head back to our freshman dorm building with a bunch of our freshman floormates. So nostalgic. We all teared up and could hardly contain ourselves, especially when performing our secret knock, flushing the toilets (if you know us, you know the story behind it), and just walking the halls of the building we called home for a whole year.
Katie and Sarah outside their freshman dorm room!

All the Bosch 2 chickadees! We used to sit in this room for floor meetings, community builders, and watching fall movies! We specifically remember watching Hocus Pocus in this room while our RA kicked noisy people out :)

Deja vu anyone?? Katie took this same picture freshman year of Sarah napping on her bed and everyone found it hilarious.

This second day of Senior Week was another success! We loved stuffing our face full of food and reliving our freshman year days!

Senior Week: Day 1

It's officially Senior Week!

On this day we woke up and were all hungover AF for the most part. You can see why on the post below (thanks Don!). Katie woke up and instantly had a phone interview with a local charter school. Her first appearance out of her room was, "well, I guess I'm employed!". After a brief celebration we headed off to Ashker's to get some recovery juice! Are we basic or what???

Enjoying the sun and our juice!

This day was the night we were pretty pumped about: the Bisons Game. We all bought the senior week package which meant we were going to every event possible. For this event you show up to the Bisons field, head over to the group area, and receive 6 drink tickets. Yes, SIX! Plus you received unlimited food. Clare loves hot dogs and there was an unlimited number of hot dogs. Talk about hot dog heaven!

This evening was freeeezing! We were bundled up and still were cold. We sat at the tables in huddles and hung out in the bathrooms because we were so cold. Here we are at our Bisons Game Photo Shoot...

Not one good photo of Katie and Sarah. Not surprising.

After we ditched the game we decided to go to a popular bar across the street. Next thing you know the whole class of 2016 is there! We drank some more beer while mingling with our classmates. Eventually we left and we decided to take the subway down to the canal, which only added a couple more extra minutes. While waiting for the subway this happened...

Looks like a potential murder scene, right?

Clare, who is ever so great at talking people into things, talked us into going into the fountain. So we did...
Please keep in mind it was about 55 degrees and windy this day :)

 Literally under the fountain

Drying off our feet in the subway before putting our shoes back on!

The fun DOES NOT stop there! Clare, once again, talked Katie into racing the subway. Which meant Katie and Clare hopped off the subway as soon as it stopped and ran down Main St. to its next stop, hoping to get there in time before it left. Luckily we made it and we've never laughed so hard in our lives before. Truly just so humorous.

Lonely Lil B

Once we arrived back at our humble abode, Clare took it upon her self to kick all the wishes growing in our front yard. Aka she destroyed all the white dandelions so people couldn't blow a wish on them. What a Jesuit!

Look at the height her leg is getting!

We came back home and danced to just about every dance song we love. This honestly was one of our best nights of college because it was full of adventure, spontaneity, excitement, and alcohol!

Senior Week Kick-Off

It's Senior Week!
We've been seeing advertisements for Senior Week since we were freshmen and now it's our turn to experience this Canisius tradition!
*Yes, we know this post  is extremely late but Katie finally had some free time so she's updating the world of what happened almost 5 months ago.

On Sunday before Senior Week we decided to kick it off with a trip to Don Tequila's! We took the subway down and headed straight down Allen to our favorite Mexican restaurant. Don's is infamous for their margaritas and on Sunday's they're only $3 each! Because we were celebrating Senior Week we decided to be big spenders and get a couple towers.

Friends in attendance were Clare, Lil B, Sarah, Katie, KeShawn and a new friend named Sam! Sarah treated us to queso which turned out to be a block of cheese. When the waiter came around and asked us if we wanted another tower, Katie accidentally said yes.

Katie also poured Lil B an extra margarita when she was supposed to be the DD.
#oops
Don't worry, she gave this extra marg to someone else so she could get us all home safely.

Upon arrival back at the Hoe House, we all sat in our living room and talked about life before passing out from an overload of chips, salsa, and tequila. This was a great start to our last week at Canisius...ever. Cue all the tears!!

Xoxo,
