Clare's First "Retirement" Pump Sesh

Today's the day! Day 1 of Clare's retirement workout regimen.

A little over a week ago Clare swam in her last swim meet :( She's been enjoying herself, relaxing, and having fun with friends since then. Today Clare made a promise to herself that she's going to start eating healthy and exercising today. Then she went to Moe's with Lil' B. Her exact words were "So yea that whole eating healthy thing is ruined so I might as well attempt to exercise today. We'll see how long this workout lasts without anyone telling me what to do."

We believe in you Clare! And when you come home we'll share our cookies with you :)

Xoxo,

Weekend Snapshots

Oh Monday, how we haven't missed you.
Actual photos of us starting our Monday mornings
We're still in weekend mode over here so we're linking up with a NEW linky party! (insert heart eyeball emoji here) Today we're linking up with Erin to reminisce about our weekend!

Thursday
Of course the weekend starts on Thursday! Three of the roomies hung out with Clare and her swim friends Thursday night and we had a lot of fun! People wanted to pose left and right for a chance to be featured on the blog :)
"Let's high five on 'blog'!"

Friday
We started our weekend off with our Friday Favorites post! Friday was the perfect way to start our weekend (can you notice the half sarcasm half honest tone in our voice?!) Michelle, Sarah, and Katie were stuck cheering at a women's basketball game. However this game was slightly more exciting than usual. It was the Play4Kay game, which supports breast cancer awareness! Everything was pink! Who doesn't love a sprinkling of pink? Clare stopped by with her swim team to show their support for the Griffs. We won by one point! So fun :)

Sarah and Katie went to Iggy's on campus for dinner (fun fact: Katie currently has $890 Griffbucks to use before the semester ends!)

Afterwards, Sarah finally began to work on her personal statement for her grad school application and Michelle completed her homework assignment by midnight! One of us was feeling particularly sappy on Friday night and wrote this sweet text message to us in our #25Hoes group chat.

"Guys I'm sorry for getting sappy because let's be real, I have no emotions (not impressed emoji), but I just wanted to say how much I truly love and appreciate each and every one of you! Growing up is seriously scaring me, but at the end of the day I love coming home because I know you guys are there :) We have to make these next three months the best and enjoy every minute with each other! Love you all so much and thank you for dealing with me for this long (heart emoji)"

Any guesses on the sentimental roommate?? You may be surprised!

Saturday
Honestly what did we do Saturday? Some of the roomies had another basketball to cheer at and most of us worked at some point on Saturday (yawn).

At least Clare had fun! She visited her Nana, who lives about an hour away. She attended the SUNY swimming championships and went out for a night on the town!

Sunday
Oh look, another basketball game to cheer at. The other roomies took in their last day of the weekend. And good news! The ice chunks in our driveway are officially MELTED! Lil B became a chef! While she's home, she's working on her culinary skills and made a delicious-looking chicken parm dinner!

Update on Lil B: Poor Lil B is still solving her family's broken pipe issue :( We miss you Baby B!

Friday Favorites

It's Friday!

Rebecca Black said it best :) It's been a while since we participated in our favorite linky party and today we decided to break that cycle! Today we're linking up with Andrea, Narci, and Erika in this week's Friday Favorites!

One
We are loving the fact that the temps are starting to warm up in our area because that means all the snow we don't want to shovel will melt! This past week we have received about 8 inches of snow. EIGHT INCHES! The city has yet to plow the other half of our street and the snow is so heavy. That's a lot of work for the one shovel we have! Snow melting is definitely a favorite this week :)

Two
Speaking of snow...Sarah was somehow able to get her car out of the driveway yesterday!
She's ready to dig herself out!
While Katie was heating dinner up (courtesy of Mamma B), Sarah was shoveling off her car and digging herself out of the avalanche out back. Luckily, KeShawn happened to be walking by and helped her out. Thanks KeShawn!

Her parents will be happy to know she had to un-bury her car because she picked up a daytime shift at the restaurant!

Three
For those that don't know, Katie has been completing her student teaching requirements these past couple of weeks. She's with second graders in an inner city school and the stories are hilarious/shocking/entertaining. The #25Hoes regularly help her with lessons, Valentine's Day gifts, and crafts. She's been on break all week because the schools in our area close for a week in mid-February each year. She's been home, catching up on some z's, relaxing, and hanging out with the roomies during the day. Katie being on a week long break is a favorite this week!

Four
We recently posted about Clare's retirement from Division I swimming and that certainly makes our favorite list this week! Although she misses swimming, she currently has 0 responsibilities and requirements. She's loving life!

Five
Lil' B's positive attitude is absolutely a favorite this week. Lil B has been staying home at her parents' house while they're away. She's looking after the dog, the house, and enjoying a kitchen floor that doesn't have the potential to kill you. Lil B woke up to water leaking from her ceiling because a pipe burst :( However, in true Lil' B fashion she doesn't let the mishap bother her! She's been cleaning up, meeting with insurance reps, AND going to classes this week. We'll have a big bottle of vino waiting for her when she returns to our house soon! We love you Lil' B!

Thanks for playing along this week!

Bath Time

It's bath time for Sarah! She's finally shaving her "amazon, hairy legs" before tonight's basketball game. She's shaving sans-soap so you know what that means- razor burn! Thank god she's finally shaving those puppies.

"I'm literally going to get the worst razor burn. No soap, no shaving cream, NOTHING."

Xoxo,

That Time Practice was Cancelled

This past Tuesday was an exciting one. It started after Katie and Sarah woke up from a mid-afternoon nap because they had to get ready for cheerleading practice. Michelle was going to pick them up and they would head to the KAC for the two hour practice. Well, about 40 minutes prior a lot of teammates were unable to attend and practice was cancelled. Clare- in recently retired swimmer fashion- announced "YOU'RE GOING TO DON TEQUILA'S WITH US." So we did :)

Sarah, Katie, and Clare got ready, waited for Michael, and made our way over to the subway to meet up with some other swimmers before riding the train downtown to Don Tequila's. Tuesdays at Don's are a big deal because margaritas are half off! What a great college deal! Clare twisted our arm into agreeing to a margarita tower (it didn't take much twisting). Sarah ordered her glass with salt and was a little apprehensive about it. But we reassured her that the salty/sweet flavor is something she would LOVE. Her reaction?
"Wow this is delicious. Can I just have a whole container of salt?"

Our tower!

Our almost-empty tower!
The margarita tower will give you about 9-10 margaritas each. Divided by 5 girls, that's 2 each. Let it be known they give you FREE chips and salsa too :) While Katie was busy talking, Clare asked "Do you think we need another tower?" Katie said yes. So in comes the second tower and two more margaritas each!

Sarah's phone underneath the spout

What else are you supposed to do when all of the ice in your glass is melted? You pour ice out of the tower, of course!
Check Michael and Alicia's faces

The swimmers have a strict "no drop left behind" policy that Katie and Sarah were not aware of. To avoid breaking this policy, Michael gladly finished our margs for us. What a champ!

After cashing out we took the subway back home and played in the snow.

Clare made us fried eggs, Katie made turkey sausage, and Sarah made toast. And we hung out in the kitchen eating breakfast at 10pm :) Sarah, Clare and Michael watched a couple episodes of One Tree Hill (yes, Chad Michael Murray!!) before turning in for the night. To think none of this would've never happened if cheer practice wasn't cancelled that night :)

Yes friends, you read that correctly. Our very own Clare Bear is now retired!...from Division I swimming that is :)

Over the weekend Clare and some other #25Hoes favorites finished their league championships and we couldn't be prouder. I mean look at this team!

Let's not forget she was the athlete of the week for her league back in November ;)

Her 6:10am wake up times, her ever-so-long dry seasons, her long periods of having dry skin, and days of squeezing into her swimsuit are officially over. What a bittersweet moment for her! Clare we wish we had your determination, drive, and ability to stay positive! (Fun fact: Katie is tearing up just typing this because she can't believe 4 years of swimming are over and now she's realizing there are only a couple months until graduation). We love you Clare!

Shout out to a couple other #25Hoes favorites on the swim team
*Katelyn (her caramel apple dip is bomb)
*Alex (former Bosch 2 inhabitant!!)
*KeShawn (he took out our trash yesterday)
*Alicia (always so giggly)
*Michael (knows our city better than us)

Congrats Clare and Company!!
