A Month in Review: April

April 2016
We swear we blinked and our beloved April was over. Here are some fun tidbits!
  • Katie got a new student teaching placement (yay for fourth grade)
  • Sarah helped Katie on a secret mission to a local elementary school
  • Clare, Lil B, Katie, and Sarah went to Don Tequila's for $3 margs on a Tuesday
  • Relay for Life!
  • Clare attended Little Dickie
  • We hosted our toga party and Clare almost wore her graduation gown instead of a toga
  • Sarah got inducted into Psi Chi
  • Our shower tile fell off in the downstairs bathroom
  • We roofed it
  • Many dinners were provided by Mamma B
  • Sarah discovered that someone keyed her car  she ran into the bushes too many times
  • Our gal pal Megan performed in her last Little Theater production...ever
  • We randomly texted our group chat crying about how much we love each other, don't want to graduate, and don't want to leave this house despite all of it's ailments

Finals Week

How the heck is it our last finals week of our undergrad career?? We were just ending our freshmen year a couple months ago- well that's what it certainly seems like. The roomie have a very difficult senior week this year; it's so tough they may not make it.

Just kidding, it's the easiest we've ever had.

Sarah: What finals? She was done in December.
Katie: She student taught all semester, aka no finals
Clare: She had two finals, one  of them being sign language
Lil B: She also had two finals
Michelle: She had a final project (completed in conjunction with Clare & Lil B)
and maybe one other final

The good news is that Katie is blowing through her Griff Bucks and we still have a week and a half to live together!

Weekend Snapshot

We blinked and the weekend was over.

It's been a few weeks but we decided to link up with Erin for our weekend snapshot!

Friday
Friday we celebrated the end of classes with Quad Party! Check out our post series on this eventful day!

Saturday
Saturday was "back to reality" day for us. Most of us slept in before starting our day. Sarah, Lil B, and Michelle had to work at their jobs. Even Clare had to be a janitor today. Clare's family hosted their annual Kentucky Derby party and Katie gladly took them up on their invite. Katie and Clare were cornhole partners and came in second place. Clare also finished a whole bottle of Relax Riesling by herself.

In the evening all the hoes came home and we went over to our friend Jerry's for a hotdog picnic...at 11pm. We crossed the quad to get to his house when we found a loose brick from the sidewalk in the quad. So naturally we put it in Clare's purse.
 #socollege
The hotdog picnic was a success! They were perfectly grilled and had all the great condiments you'd expect at Ted's. Pat was the DJ and was playing all of our requests but also threw in some of his personal favs, which were our favs too (twinsies!). The #25Hoes got to see Katie jam out to BYOB by System of a Down for the first time in history and they were appalled/astounded/wanting more. Dan also sang Wonder Wall while standing on top of a chair. This is all while Clare was drinking leftover wine out of a coffee mug (she was pretending it was tea and was blowing on it to cool it down.) Clare loves her vino! Also, Clare graciously brought Pringles as our side for this picnic. Pat took a peek in Clare's purse and said, "this is the oddest purse I've ever seen: wine, pringles, and a brick."

On the way back across the quad to our house we tested other bricks to see if they were loose. No success.

We all sat in the living room Saturday night brainstorming ideas for gag awards for Katie, Sarah's, and Michelle's cheer banquet. Lil B lit the candles and set the mood with ambient lighting and music. It's that Bath & Body Works job! Clare fell asleep. Then Lil B went to bed. Katie fell asleep on Clare's arm (before taking pics on her phone). Then Michelle went upstairs and eventually Sarah woke Katie and Clare up.

Sunday
Ahh Sunday. For once it was relaxing. The Hoes don't have too many exams and if they do, they're pretty easy. Everyone worked at their respectable jobs and came home in the evening. Katie, Sarah, and Michelle attended their last cheer banquet ever.

Later that night Clare and Lil B went to the Blessing of the Brains Mass on campus in order to prepare for finals week. Clare has gone every semester! Wow, dedication! Afterward they came home and joined Sarah and Katie (and some of their friends) for the first book club meeting of Wine & Spine. More info on this exciting new adventure coming soon!

Thanks for catching up!

Quad Party: Part 1

The Mother of All Blog Posts
Yesterday was THE biggest day of the year at our school! We look forward to it every year and we think it may just be Clare's favorite day ever. It's Quad Party! The all-day drinking and eating fest that only happens once a year.

Our day started promptly at 7am when Clare woke Katie up with a mimosa in bed.

We FaceTimed Lil B and Sarah and they both ignored our calls. Finally, Lil B came upstairs and snuggled with us.

We found out the 23 Bros next door bought a geotag on Snapchat. So of course we used it.

We made more mimosas using the complimentary champagne bottles Katie took from Sarah's cousin's wedding.

Then we sat on the porch.

Clare had her last class as an undergrad at 8am and Katie joined her because why not? They had smoothies and found out how old Clare's sign language teacher was...84! Sister Virginia (Nancy) is turning 85 on May 9th. Happy Birthday, Sis!

Lil B went back to sleep for a "nippy nap" and was showering when Katie and Clare came back. The rest of the #25Hoes were up and we started our day! We set up the table on the porch and started playing some music. Clare's sister stopped over and Clare had a surprise for her..

Look at the excitement on her face!

One last shot of silly string
Of course we had to have a photoshoot. Michael was our photographer and the pictures came out really nice!

Thanks Michael!

We were sitting on the porch when a freshman named Mike asked if he could hang out on the porch with us. We said sure, because we're Jesuits after all. He asked if he could have a mimosa and we politely told him we were out of champagne. Anyone who knows us knows that we had 12 mini bottles left but we had no idea who he was and didn't want to provide alcohol to an unknown under-aged guy. Are our parents proud of our responsible decision? Hope so! Anyway, he asked some of us if we had boyfriends and wanted to take us out to dinner. Then he told us we should be in a retirement home because of how old we are. UMMMM, EXCUSE ME MIKE?! Clearly he was not feelin 22.
Then Mike left.

Michelle danced down our driveway and street in her blue skort and was honked at by the police officers. That didn't stop her, she just kept dancing. We were laughing so hard we couldn't get a picture :(.

We continued hanging out on our porch until the actual Quad Party opened up at 1:00pm. Stay tuned for Quad Party: Part 2!

Merry Quad Party Eve

Thursday was Quad Party Eve! The night before the biggest day of the year at our school-Quad Party/Springfest/Griffest. Thursday night we all snuggled up in our living room with some ambient lighting and a couple glasses of vino. We were hoping Michelle would FaceTime a possible date for senior ball (he's a QB). But he proved to be unsuccessful. We love nights like this!

Oops..cut off Sarah's  head
Just a reminder to vote for who should Michelle take to senior ball! The poll is on the right hand side of our homepage.

The Neighbors Behind Us

We've lived in this house for about 11 months now and we have yet to meet the neighbors behind us. We only know Robert and the 23 Bros. Last weekend we finally met the guy who we share a back fence with. We still don't know his name but we think this is the start to a beautiful friendship (just kidding.) He was on his garage fixing the roof. We said hello and gave a friendly wave.

Then we drove away. Little did we know that he would soon return to his garage again this week to finish his repairs and we would have another encounter with him.

"Take a Nippy Nap"

Last week some of us went out for a night on the town. When everyone came home we gathered in our favorite meeting spot...the upstairs hallway. Lil B was particularly emotional due to the fact that WE'RE GRADUATING SOON. She sat down on the stairs and put her face on the floor. After we politely reminded her that everyone's shoes have been on this floor, we started talking about the importance of taking nippy naps.

"Katie literally go take a nippy nap."

#25Hoes Go Greek

Last Friday, April 29th, we had a toga party at our house!

It's something we've been planning for a couple weeks and we were so excited. We each wore a sheet, secured it with a belt, and may have worn a leaf crown. Our friends arrived and we partied like Greek gods and goddesses! We forgot to play the Hercules soundtrack though...oops.

Clare Can Abbrev..iate!

Big day for our girl Clare!

She has always been envious of Katie and Sarah's abbreviating ability and she's finally starting to master this necessary skill. Tonight Sarah was eating doritos (surprise!) and Clare said "Hey Sar, do you mind if I have a dorit?"
#abbreveverything
#thatwasanabbreviation
#25Hoes
Quad Party tomorrow! Our last one! We're planning on a 7:10am breakfast on the porch and currently we're finding Michelle a date for senior formal.

A Case of the Mondays

It's definitely a case of the Mondays over here at the #25Hoes house.

1. We woke up to Hurricane Sandy
2. Sarah couldn't find any senior formal dresses
3. Katie has yet to finish her service project
4. Michelle got a ticket for not stopping at a red light properly
5. Katie and Clare realized their 3-day cleanse isn't going to work out
(they're not too sad about that one)
6. Clare had to clean out her swimming locker :(
7. Good news: Clare successfully completed her song in sign language!

Hopefully that's it.

Oh also, mercury is in retrograde.

Our Last Week of Undergrad

How the heck is it our last week of undergrad?!?! We're not ready to end our time in college, graduate, or move out of our beloved #25Hoes house! We just moved in! Katie is definitely not ready to give up writing and managing the blog. Sad story- she had to remove the blog link from her Instagram profile in case potential employers stalked her. It was a sad day for all.

Yes it's the last week of classes but we still have finals week and senior week to look forward to. In the meantime we'll be stocking up on tissues and wine :)

A Tribute to Megan

Ahhh Megan. She's a #25Hoes favorite for sure. This sweet gal came to us freshman year when she lived on our floor. She's our favorite member of the musical theater club on campus and we could listen to her sing all day every day and never get tired of it. Plus she's so polite to laugh at all of our jokes.

She recently had her final musical performance in college :( Oh how we've enjoyed watching her in each spring musical (pronounce like Ms. Darbus does in High School Musical)!
Freshman Year: The Putnam County Spelling Bee
Sophomore Year: Legally Blonde
*played the PERFECT Paulette, btw
Junior Year: Godspell
Senior Year: American Idiot

Throwback to Freshman Year!

Ready to watch our gal!

One of Megan's solos!

Power stance
Then of course they just had to sing Time of Your Life after the curtain call and of course we cried because #seniors and #growingup.

We're so proud of our beautiful friend Megan and will certainly miss her beautiful voice belting out gorgeous solos at free musicals!

Dinner Date

Last week when Michelle was in California, we took the opportunity to eat a meal with meat, since she's a vegetarian (we would've felt bad being carnivores in front of her while she ate her avocado). We came home from student teaching/work/class and sweet Lil B set the table and had the baked macaroni in the oven. The house smelled of garlic and sauce. Muchas gracias to Mamma B for making this meal!

We INHALED this meal. We had cookie cake for dessert...what a great Tuesday!
